Paphos has been named the world’s best destination for sunrise and sunset views, according to a ranking by European photo-printing company Cewe, which was ed on Thursday by the Paphos Regional Tourism Board (Etap).
The ranking was created by Cewe in collaboration with travel and wildlife photographer Bella Falk and was featured in the international magazine Travel + Leisure, which also highlighted Cyprus among its top 50 places to travel in 2026.
Locations were evaluated based on their “visual impact, variety, accessibility and composition opportunities”, according to Cewe.
The company noted that Paphos offers particularly impressive sunsets thanks to its west-facing coastline and dramatic natural landscapes. It specifically highlighted the breathtaking views of Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock), Paphos Castle and the EDRO III shipwreck as some of the best locations to enjoy the sunset.
Paphos’ sunsets combine light, the sea, mythology, history and the destination’s distinctive landscape,” said Paphos Regional Tourism Board Executive Director, Nasos Hatzigeorgiou.
According to him, the recognition by Travel + Leisure will further strengthen Paphos’ position in international markets.
The Paphos Regional Tourism Board noted that this distinction supports the region’s strategy of promoting experiences beyond the traditional “sun and sea” model, highlighting attractions connected with nature, culture and lifestyle.
Beyond the locations highlighted by Cewe, the Paphos Tourism Board also recognised the Akamas Peninsula, Latchi, Polis Chrysochous and Pomos as unique destinations for enjoying sunrises and sunsets, where light, colours and natural landscapes create unforgettable experiences.
